San Diego, California (January 2, 2008) – Shaw Binary Systems, Inc. (SBSI) today announced the implementation of new eco-friendly business practices.  SBSI’s initiative encompasses three different categories: reducing waste, conserving energy and consulting customers on technology driven eco-friendly business practices.
Christopher Shaw, SBSI President & CEO recognizes the importance of moving towards more sustainable business practices. “It is all about making small sustainable efforts towards going green and encouraging the community we serve to do the same,” Said Christopher Shaw.
SBSI’s “GoGreen” company wide initiative improves and expands on a less formal implementation in 2007 and includes: a company wide recycling program, mandatory use of recycled paper, encouraging SBSI employees and affiliates to print less, replacement of all existing CRT monitors with LCD, virtualization of many production and test servers, use of motion sensitive lighting in common areas, requesting reductions in shipping materials from vendors, offering GoGreen technology consulting to customers, exploring more efficient cooling methods for energy savings, turning off equipment not consistently in use, increasing our communication via email vs. “snail mail” to minimize the use of paper and reduce the environmental impact associated with delivery vehicles.
