SHAW BINARY SYSTEMS, INC. (SBSI) CLEANS UP THE COAST 

 

San Diego, California (September 19, 2005) – Shaw Binary Systems, Inc. (SBSI) announced today that its employees volunteered this past weekend for the 21st Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, helping to beautify Santa Clara Place, Mission Bay.

 

The California Coastal Cleanup Day for San Diego is led by the I Love a Clean San Diego organization. I Love a Clean San Diego’s various programs include, Coastal and Inland Cleanups, Storm Drain Stenciling, Habitat Restoration, and Community Outreach. Ten thousand volunteers each year help to support the various programs that I Love a Clean San Diego leads.

 

SBSI got involved with the 21st Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day through Hands on San Diego, an annual volunteer week. This was SBSI’s first year working with I Love a Clean San Diego, but their third year taking part in Hands on San Diego. Several employees and friends of employees came out Saturday morning to pick up trash along Mission Bay. In the three hours the event lasted, the Shaw Binary team picked up several pounds of trash and a couple pounds of recycling.

 

“The employees of Shaw Binary always enjoy teaming up with Hands on San Diego but this year was especially fulfilling. One of the things that makes San Diego so great is the coast, so being able to help clean it up, felt like we were, in essence, cleaning up San Diego.” Lacey Shaw, Charity Event Coordinator.
