SHAW BINARY SYSTEMS, INC. (SBSI) DEVELOPED NEW NETWORK ARCHITECTURE FOR NEW HAVEN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES

San Diego, California (May 1, 2007) – Shaw Binary Systems, Inc. (SBSI) announced today their collaboration with New Haven Youth and Family Services (NHYFS).

NHYFS, is a non-profit organization that provides youth and family services. The focus of NHYFS is troubled adolescent males and their families. NHYFS offers these families a variety of programs, including: mental health services, residential treatment, special education, vocational training and clinical intervention. One of NHYFS’ programs, which they collaborate with the county of Riverside on, is Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS).

NHYFS first contacted SBSI to help them develop new network architecture to meet the latest Information Technology requirements from the county of Riverside for the storage of TBS information. The new Information Technology requirements state that data be encrypted both on operating systems and when stored offline.

The new network SBSI created consists of two sections. The first section stores the TBS information and is comprised of several servers. The other section supports NHYFS’ existing campus network. SBSI has incorporated twelve houses and their computers into the new campus network and administration of these new computers will be performed from the campus network. Both networks will be available to users remotely through web browsers and kept behind several layers of security. TBS client data stored on the network is encrypted to protect the data and can only be accessed through strict procedures.
