SHAW BINARY SYSTEMS, INC. (SBSI) TO DONATE T-SHIRTS FOR VOLLEYBALL FEST XV FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS

San Diego, California (August 1, 2007) – Shaw Binary Systems, Inc. (SBSI) announced today that they have offered to donate event t-shirts to the Cystic Fibrosis Volleyball Fest XV. The Volleyball Fest will take place Saturday, August 11 at 8:00am at Robb Field in Ocean Beach, San Diego. The Fest is a round robin tournament comprised of 6 player coed teams. The teams are split up by skill level into four groups: Advanced, Tournament Experience, Beginning/Intermediate, and Novice. Every member on a team that raises at least $100 for Cystic Fibrosis will receive SBSI donated event t-shirts.

An associate of SBSI, Rosalina Hansen, who has been participating in the VolleyBall Fest since 2000, will be designing the t-shirts for the event.

Cystic Fibrosis affects the lungs and digestive system and is an inherited disease that is typically diagnosed by age two. About 30,000 people in the United States have Cystic Fibrosis, and an estimated 70,000 people worldwide are affected by the disease. One thousand people are diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis each year. The current predicted age of survival is 37, whereas in the 1950’s, few with Cystic Fibrosis lived into their teens. Research and medical treatments account for the extension in estimated survival for those with Cystic Fibrosis.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) puts 95 cents of every dollar earned into research, care and education. The CFF has been recognized by the Wall Street Journal for their efficient use of donated funds. For more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, including ways in which you can help support the cause, please visit http://www.cff.org/.
